Spence-Chapin Every child deserves a lovely and dedicated family, and that is one of the main beliefs inside Spence-Chapin. This is a non-profit organization in charge of providing adoption services and free option counseling for pregnant women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy. But the foundation not only focuses its work on finding foster homes for children who need families, but also works in promoting the understanding of adoption through public education and counseling. In the early 1900s civic leader and adoption pioneer Clara Spence and Dr. Henry Chapin independently created nurseries out for trying to solve the sadly problem of homeless infants abandoned in shelters and hospitals.
